Corrosion professionals gathered in Aberdeen this week for the Aberdeen branch of the Institute of Corrosion’s annual forum. This year’s topic was corrosion and material challenges in the energy transition. The one-day hybrid event saw speakers discuss material challenges associated with different renewable energy sectors from offshore wind to solar power, nuclear fusion and carbon capture to re-purposing existing pipelines for Hydrogen transport.

Safinah Group’s Simon Daly presented a paper entitled “Challenges for selecting coatings for the fixed and floating offshore wind industry” which was followed by a lively questions and answers session.
